Today was a big one.
My daughter Lillie is training with me, and today she fitted a shower door for the first time — with my guidance.
It was boiling hot in the bathroom (my elderly customer had the heating on full), and at one point Lillie sat on the floor and said,
“I can’t do this mum, it’s too hard.”
And honestly? I remember feeling exactly the same when I started. I even cried on jobs.
So I told her — you’re not the first to feel like this, and you won’t be the last.
You are strong enough. You can do this.
She took a minute, stood back up… and finished it.
Waterproof. Plumb. Done properly.
I’m so proud of her.
To anyone starting out in the trades — it’s hard, and some days feel too much. But that doesn’t mean you’re not cut out for it.
It just means you’re learning.
