Loudwater Living Room: After & Before.

The project here was to paint a newly installed fireplace as well as the walls and ceilings of this family living room. We also needed to fill the damage from the removal of the older skirting boards ready for smaller ones to be fitted.

The fireplace needed the newly plaster wall to mist-coasted before using Zinsser 1.2.3 to prime the wooden surrounds and beading. Two coats of Dulux Trade Diamond Matt colour matched to Farrow & Ball Jitney no: 293. Were painted for the final finish.

The ceilings needed a good sanding using the Mirka dustless sander before two coats of Tikkurila anti-reflex 2 were applied.

The other walls showed lots of signs of damage so needed filling using Gyproc 60 and Toupret fill-flex.

Once dried and re-sanded we painted the walls using two coats of Dulux Trade Diamond Matt colour matched to Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone no: No. 241

Wall paint: Dulux Trade Diamond Matt Colour: Egyption Cotton

Ceiling Paint: Tikkurila anti-reflex 2 in White.

Wallpapered feature wall: Vanilla Skies Neutral by Arthouse .

Bedroom After & Before:

For this project we needed to repair and decorate room that was recently flooded and had the ceiling freshly plastered.

First off we mist-coated the ceiling and other plastered areas.

We then used the Mirka dustless sander to sand back the walls before spot priming any raked out cracks with Zinsser Peel Stop. We filled the cracks and heavily damaged areas with Toupret Fill-Flex and Gyproc Easifill 60.

After a second sand a coat of Zinsser Gardz was used to seal in any exposed plaster and filler.

We painted the Ceiling using Johnstones covaplus vinyl matt (colour matched to Dulux ocean ripple.

We used Johnstone’s Trade Aqua Guard primer undercoat and two coats of Aqua Guard in a satin finish colour matched to peppermint rock for the woodwork and doors.

The walls were painted using Crown trade clean extreme colour matched to Frenchic Beach Hut.

The result is a calmer but colourful bedroom.

Front Door & Back Door refresh: Before & After

For this project we needed to freshen up the front and back doors to this apartment block going from stained doors to a fresh and modern Farrow & Ball colour (Titmouse W24)

First up we sanded back the doors with the Mirka sander and then spot primed the bare wood using Zinsser 1.2.3 (colour matched)

Once dried we painted the door with 2 coats of Zinsser Allcoat colour matched to Titmouse Blue No: W24

Garage frame refresh and repair: After & Before:

After giving the frame a good sand down we raked out any of the old failed silicon. A coat of Zinsser Peel stop was applied to the frame to stop any potential flaking.

HB42 premium decorators caulk was used to fill the gaps either side of the frame to fill the gaps.

Toupret wood filler was applied to any holes or damaged areas to give a smooth finish once painted.

EAZYFIX® Wood Rot Filler Was used on the bottom of the frames where the wood had rotted away. This is another great product in our opinion.

Once dried the frame was then sanded down again before 2 coats of Zinsser Allcoat satin in white was applied to the frames.

The final result is a fresh garage frame ready for the new garage door.

Berkhamsted Gate, bollards and railings.

A lot of prep work went into the tired old metalwork to get them back to looking as good as new. After a good sand down we primed them using Metalshield Quick Dry Metal Primer from Dulux Trade.

Once dried we painted all the metalwork using 2 coats of Dulux Trade Metalshield in Gloss. The final results speak for themselves.

Front Door refresh: Before & After

The task here was to freshen up the front door to this apartment block going from stained door to a Farrow & Ball colour (Titmouse W24)

After sanding back the door with the Mirka sander we spot primed the bare wood using Zinsser 1.2.3 (colour matched)

Once dried we painted the door with 2 coats of Zinsser Allcoat colour matched to Titmouse Blue No: W24 (Farrow & Ball)

Berkhamsted Entrance Masonry: After & Before.

First up we used a wire brush to get the worst of the flaking paint off the masonry before painting a coat of Dulux Trade Weathershield stabilising Primer on to the surfaces. The stabiliser will lock down and chalky and powdery surfaces before painting

When then used 2 coats of Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth masonry paint (in Magnolia)

The final result is a fresh entrance way deserving of such a nice building.

Berkhamsted Juliet Baconies: Before & After.

We loved seeing the transformation of these tired and faded Juliet balconies returned to their former glory…. and we only had 12 to do 😂
