Sometimes it’s the smaller jobs that make a big difference to how a property is used and enjoyed.

For this project, we replaced an old failed exterior light with a modern stainless steel wall wash fitting, providing a much cleaner look and improved illumination for the outdoor space.

The customer also wanted a convenient outdoor power source, so we installed a weatherproof socket supplied via a switched fused connection unit. This provides a compliant installation while also giving a simple way to control any outdoor lighting plugged into the socket.

Whether it’s powering garden equipment, pressure washers, or outdoor lighting, having accessible power outside makes it much easier to keep outdoor spaces looking their best throughout the summer months.

Drilling downlight holes can sometimes be one of those dreaded jobs. You measure twice, cut once… then spend the next hour trying to find the cable that’s disappeared somewhere above the ceiling!

Thankfully, the electrician gods were smiling on me today. Every downlight hole I drilled had the cable sitting exactly where I expected it to be based on my measurements. A rare but welcome occurrence!

A big thank you also goes to the considerate builder, who resisted the temptation to bury all the cables behind the insulation when boarding the ceiling. Small things like that make a huge difference and save a lot of time on site.

Some days everything just goes to plan! ⚡️
