IN-HOUSE MOULD MAKER / JOINER – FULL TIME

We are looking for a skilled and practical Mould Maker / Joiner to join our cast stone manufacturing business on a full-time, permanent basis.
We manufacture a wide range of bespoke architectural cast stone products including pier caps, coping stones, window cills and heads, steps, porticos, surrounds, balustrading and other made-to-measure stonework.
As our workload continues to grow, we are looking to bring mould making fully in-house and are looking for someone who can take responsibility for producing accurate, high-quality moulds for our casting team.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for manufacturing, modifying, repairing and maintaining moulds used to produce both standard and bespoke cast stone products.
Day-to-day work will include:
• Building timber, plywood, MDF and fibreglass (fibreglass skill not essential) moulds from drawings and dimensions
• Accurately cutting and assembling mould components
• Producing straight, curved, angled and more complex bespoke moulds
• Working from customer measurements, sketches and technical drawings
• Creating profiles, formers and templates
• Repairing and modifying existing moulds
• Ensuring moulds are square, accurate and suitable for repeated production
• Working closely with our casting team to develop practical mould solutions
• Maintaining an organised mould-making workshop and mould storage system
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience specifically within cast stone is not essential.
We would be very interested in hearing from experienced:
• Joiners
• Carpenters
• Cabinet makers
• Bench joiners
• Shopfitters
• Pattern/mould makers
• Skilled woodworkers with strong fabrication ability
You must be confident using workshop machinery and power tools including table saws, bandsaws, chop/mitre saws, routers and sanders.
Accuracy and attention to detail are extremely important. Many of our products are bespoke, so we’re looking for somebody who can look at a drawing or finished product and work out the best way to manufacture the mould for it.
This isn’t a production-line woodworking position. There will be plenty of variety, problem solving and one-off work alongside our standard mould production.
