Chimney crowns tend to take the brunt of the bad weather, so they tend to need more maintenance than the rest of the roof. This one hadn’t been maintained for years, to the point where plants were growing out of pretty much every horizontal surface.

After removing the loose cement and plants, stabilising the bricks with SBR, we then reflaunched the chimney crown so the water will run off, on to the roof. So no chance of ingress and no plants growing.

Ever considered a sedum green roof?

We recently completed this installation for a customer whose roof was purpose-built to support the additional weight — and the finished result looks fantastic.

Green roofs offer some great benefits:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoying the warmth and colours of spring! 💐🌼🌷☀️

We are due some thunderstorms ⛈️ in the next week and these will be the first heavy rain for a month or so. If you find that your have a leak or gutter blocked/detached please contact us to arrange a visit.

Pictures are from a lead flashing job where the cement fillet had come away and two broken tiles were cemented in. All fixed now and ready for another decade or longer.

We had a nice job in Shotley this week to take down a chimney. Went very smoothly and it looks like the chimney was never there!! Got to go back and take the other chimney down once the power cables have moved 💪🏻

This customer moved into the house and was always unsatisfied with the finish on the vertical tiling. The previous roofers had not taken the time to cut the tiles in and it did look horrible.

We spent a couple of days sorting it out and now it is an example of how corner tiles should look. Needless to say she was ecstatic with the outcome.
