Yesterday we were called out to diagnose a faulty air conditioning system onboard the local Seacat Mayflower in Harwich, a vessel supporting daily offshore wind farm operations.
The crew had been experiencing issues with the system, and after carrying out a full diagnostic inspection, we quickly traced the fault back to a failed condensate pump. While small components like condensate pumps can often be overlooked, a fault in one can cause a range of symptoms and system shutdowns that appear far more serious than they actually are.
Fortunately, the diagnosis didn't take long, allowing the issue to be identified efficiently and a repair plan put in place to get the system back operating correctly.
It's always interesting working in different environments, from homes and offices through to specialist marine vessels supporting the UK's growing renewable energy sector.

Today’s first job of the day at HMG Vehicle Services 🔧❄️
2x wall-mounted Gree units in for a full service… and let’s just say they needed it 😅
Working in a vehicle workshop means these systems take on a lot more dirt, dust and grime than your average install — so this was a proper deep clean job to get them back to their best 💪

Today’s job in Thorpe-le-Soken had a bit of a twist… 🕷️
Servicing a Panasonic floor console unit — all going smoothly until we checked the outdoor unit…
Turns out it had a full-time resident.
A spider had moved in, set up shop, and absolutely trashed the place 🏚️
Webs everywhere, debris built up — proper little squatter situation going on.
Tenant has now been officially evicted 🚫
Property cleaned, serviced, and returned to a much higher standard 😅
System now running perfectly again and ready for summer ☀️
Moral of the story… if your AC hasn’t been serviced in a while, it might not just be dust in there 👀
