Williams Den Update 💚
My aim is simple: get Williams Den open and ready for the children who need it most.
But I’m just one person. Alongside working full-time, caring for my disabled son William, fundraising, project managing and clearing the site whenever I can, progress takes time.
The biggest challenge isn’t materials, it’s finding experienced tradespeople who can help build it properly. I could have a go myself, but this space needs to be safe, accessible and built to last for the children who will use it.
Can you help?
I’m looking for landscapers, joiners or builders who could help create:
🌱 4 raised planting beds
♿ Wheelchair-friendly surfacing around the beds
So far, thanks to incredible local businesses and community support, we’ve achieved:
✅ Rubbish removal – £2,000
✅ Rear security fence – £1,400
✅ Accessible potting shed – £1,500
✅ Stone path – kindly donated by MBLandscaping & JT Atkinson Builders Merchant
Still to do:
• Sensory trail with pathways, pergola, seating, sensory planting and wind chimes
• Wheelchair-accessible decking
• Fire pit area with play bark
I have around £1,000 left towards the next phase, but donations of materials, equipment or skilled labour would make a huge difference.
If you know a local tradesperson or business who might be willing to help, please tag them or ask them to get in touch.
Together, we can create something truly special for autistic and disabled children in our community.
Thank you for all your support.
