This customer wanted outside lights around the back, side and front of their property for a bit of extra security. We decided to use conduit to protect the cables from damage and also from direct sunlight which would deteriorate the cable over time.
We also installed an outside socket at the front of the property.
To keep up with current regulations and for the work to be carried out a consumer unit upgrade was essential, which the customer agreed to. We upgraded the consumer unit from an old rewirable consumer unit to an 18th edition one complete with rcbos and surge protection. We also upgraded the main earth to a suitable 16mm cable the gas earth bond to a suitable 10mm cable.
