Did you know many older properties in our area are still running on their original lead water pipes?

We were recently called out to investigate a faulty cold water main supplying a block of flats. After setting up our specialist leak detection manifold to test the system pressure, we started our ground investigation.

Once we safely cordoned off the pathway and excavated the ground, we found the root of the problem. We uncovered old lead piping hidden below the surface. When lead is found on a job like this, the safest and best solution is to completely relay the system.

We are now preparing to install a brand new, modern water main for the property. You can see the new blue MDPE water piping being prepped and fed into an exterior INSUduct box. This smart piece of kit protects the new pipework from freezing temperatures and accidental damage. We also checked the meter to ensure everything will be tracking perfectly once the new system is live.
