After a twenty year career as a Shipbroker in the city I was, from my perspective, very fortunate to be made redundant in March 2016. I knew immediately that London city life was no longer for me and within a couple of months I had started doing a few small gardening jobs for local Harpenden residents. This soon grew and I decided to become a full time commercial gardener. Initially I worked part-

time for another locally based gardening company which served as a great apprenticeship whilst developing my own client base located primarily in Harpenden. Today however I work 5 (occasionally 6) days a week for myself servicing around 25 clients which allows me to be my own boss, which if you haven’t tried I would thoroughly recommend it ! My view of gardening as a job is simple and hasn’t changed since I began - I do it because I enjoy it and whilst I am far from the new Monty Don I like to think that I have gained enough experience since 2016 to offer a knowledgeable, professional and friendly service to all my existing and future clients.
