🚨 **PLEASE READ – LOCKSMITH WARNING FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS** 🚨
I really feel I need to start speaking up about this because I'm seeing local people being hit with some frightening locksmith bills.
I'm Andy from **Emergency Local Locksmith**, and these are two situations I've recently come across locally:
📍 **HARLOW – £600 JUST TO OPEN A DOOR**
A customer had been charged around **£600 simply to gain entry to their property**.
📍 **CHESHUNT – £1,000 AFTER A LOCK CHANGE**
Another customer told me their locksmith bill reached around **£1,000 after changing a lock**.
I'm not posting this to attack other locksmiths. I'm posting it because people need to know what questions to ask BEFORE somebody starts work.
When you're locked out, you're stressed. You need to get back inside and it's very easy to agree to something without knowing what the final bill will be.
⚠️ Before allowing any locksmith to start, ask:
🔑 **What is the TOTAL price likely to be?**
🔑 **Is VAT included?**
🔑 **Is there a separate call-out charge?**
🔑 **What will the replacement lock cost if one is needed?**
🔑 **Will you tell me the final price BEFORE drilling or replacing anything?**
And please be very careful with adverts offering locksmith services from **£39, £49 or £59**.
A cheap headline price doesn't necessarily tell you what the final bill will be.
I've been locksmithing for over 20 years and I hate seeing people caught out when they're already in a vulnerable situation.
**If you're unsure about a locksmith's quote, don't be afraid to stop and get a second opinion before work begins.**
