Thermostatic bar mixer shower install 🚿
I know some of you find this kind of post boring in 2026 but it’s real day to day plumbing graft, getting jobs done, scroll through to see what needed to be done…
Customer wanted a decent shower in the upstairs shower room while the main bathroom gets redone.
The old electric shower burnt out ages ago and got disconnected from the power supply. We decided to leave it in place so we didn’t have to patch in the tiles etc…
The house is supplied by a 35kw combi boiler so I said I could pull some pipework though and surface mount a bar mixer and I think it actually came out pretty good and it worked really well.
The customer chose the Aqualisa bar mixer option, I also gave them the option of a Mira Showers platinum digital shower.
It’s not centralised as I would normally do, but because of the electric shower, the surface pipework, the shower rail and the door positioning we worked out how it would be best to use and that’s the layout we ended up on.
I pulled in some pre-lagged Fastwarm Underfloor Heating MLCP, that made this job a dream! And yes I clipped it with 32mm waste clips!
As usual I used Conex Bänninger UK and yes you can press straight onto chrome pipe.
I got very dirty while doing this install, I really needed to use the shower after it was installed but I don’t think that’s the done thing 🤣
What do you think, good honest work?
