Long Post Alert! π
π± Policy Update β Dry Weather & Summer Lawn Care (From 1st August)
Hi everyone,
With the longer periods of hot, dry weather we've been experiencing, I'll be introducing a small policy update from 1st August to help manage those times when lawns stop growing or grow much more slowly.
Every lawn reacts differently to dry weather, so rather than having a one-size-fits-all approach, I'd like to give customers two options during these periods.
Option 1 β Move to an ad hoc service
If you don't feel your lawn needs mowing, I can move it from the regular fortnightly schedule to an ad hoc service. You can then get in touch whenever you'd like it cut. This option is appropriate for lawns that go fully dormant during hot dry weather.
Please note:
β’ Ad hoc visits are subject to availability.
β’ They are charged at my standard one-off rate (see pricing below).
β’ If you'd like to return to a regular fortnightly service later on, this will also be subject to availability and the first visit will be charged at the one-off rate. I'll always do my very best to fit you back in as soon as I can, but I can't guarantee an immediate slot.
Option 2 β Keep your regular fortnightly appointment
If you'd prefer to keep your regular slot, I'll assess the lawn when I arrive. If it doesn't need mowing because growth has slowed, we can use the visit for another gardening task of a similar scope instead, such as:
β’ Strimming paving, weeds or grassy areas
β’ Weeding borders
β’ Trimming small shrubs
There'll be no change to the cost of the visit.
This option is intended for occasional weather-related situations, and I won't be able to skip more than one scheduled fortnightly cut in a row while keeping your regular appointment available. This ensures that lawns aren't left longer than four weeks between cuts. This option is suitable for lawns that slow their growth rather than going fully dormant.
My aim is simply to continue providing a reliable, consistent service while allowing a bit of flexibility when the weather doesn't cooperate. Hopefully this gives everyone a clear choice during periods of slow grass growth.
