The range provides for inverted glazing bars to suit various spans. All glazing bars can successfully incorporate top hung opening lights, smoke ventilators window inserts and louvres. The requirement of suitable structural supports should be considered at an early stage in the project therefore the Company would suggest its involvement at the earliest opportunity. Manufacture Composition
Glazing bars are extruded from aluminium alloy complying with BS 1474 designation 6063T6 ancillary components such as flashing, closures weathering and gutters, can be provided from preformed aluminium alloy to BS 1470. Appearance
All glazing bars and ancillary components can be supplied in mill finish, natural or colour anodised to BS 3987 or polyester powder coated to BS 6496 in a wide range of colours. Design Considerations

Solar performance characteristics for typical glasses and double glazing units can be provided upon request. (Weather Resistance)
Adherence to the design recommendations of BS 5516 will ensure adequate weather resistance for glazing pitched above 15 degrees. For glazing slopes lower than 15 degrees consult Howells Patent Glazing Ltd for advice. Services

A bespoke glazing solution designed to combine architectural impact with outstanding performance.
This hipped end rooflight has been precision engineered with a RAL 7016 Matt Anthracite Grey finish internally and externally, creating a clean, contemporary appearance that complements the surrounding architecture.

The 31.5mm double glazed units feature a Pilkington Activ™️ self-cleaning outer pane, an argon-filled cavity with warm edge spacer and a laminated Low E inner pane, achieving a centre pane U-value of 1.0 W/m²K.

From the initial technical drawings through to the finished installation, every element has been carefully considered to create a rooflight that maximises natural light while delivering the thermal performance and durability expected from a bespoke Howells glazing system.

Designed to make an impact, this impressive double pitched rooflight combines expansive glazing with sleek architectural lines to create a brighter, more open space below.

At 6000mm x 5200mm with a 30° pitch, the rooflight features 10 panes on each side, supported by our HG57 aluminium glazing bars with an integrated thermal barrier and finished in RAL 7016 Matt Anthracite Grey.

The 28mm double glazed units incorporate an Activ Blue outer pane, helping to reduce solar heat gain and glare while maintaining excellent levels of natural daylight. With a 1.0 W/m²K centre pane U-value, performance has been considered just as carefully as appearance.

Northlight glazing supplied and installed for Carreg Fawr Developments Ltd at H R Smith, Rotherwas, Hereford.

From drawings to completion at Baybridge Park.

We designed, manufactured and installed two bespoke aluminium rooflights for this contract: a striking double-hipped rooflight and a contemporary flat rooflight.

The aluminium framework was finished in RAL 7016 Matt Anthracite Grey with a durable polyester powder coating, complementing the surrounding architecture beautifully.

The 28mm double-glazed units comprise:

• 6mm toughened Active Neutral outer pane
• 16mm argon-filled cavity
• 6mm heat-strengthened toughened inner pane
• Centre-pane U-value: 1.0 W/m²K

Take a look at one of our recently completed striking monopitch rooflights, designed to bring natural light into the heart of the building, using our HG3 aluminium glazing bar system across 30 panes.

Finished in RAL7022 Matt externally and RAL9910 Satin internally, the system combines a clean architectural finish with high-performance 28.8mm double glazed units.

The glazing specification includes SK176 solar control outer panes, an argon-filled cavity with black warm edge spacers and heat soaked laminated clear inner panes, achieving a centre pane U-value of 1.0W/m²K.

Another example of precision-engineered glazing designed to perform as well as it looks.
