Our Panel Products Division is a distributor for 9 major melamine manufacturers and a stockist of all main wood based panels including MDF, Chipboard, Plywood, OSB and Veneers.

Palmer Timber is currently in Germany visiting HOMAG and getting a closer look at the latest technology and machinery in the wood processing industry.

Paul Bettridge, our Panels Director, is joined by Paul Lovesey, Operations Manager, and Steve Baughan, Production Manager, as they explore the latest developments at HOMAG’s headquarters in Schopfloch.

This is a great opportunity to see new technology in action, gain insight into the latest innovations and bring valuable ideas back to Palmer Timber.

A visit to Western Forest Products

Directors Richard Palmer and Phil Bright are currently on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, visiting our suppliers at Western Forest Products.

As part of their visit, they toured the Saanich Forestry Centre nursery, seeing the next generation of trees being grown, including Western Red Cedar saplings.

🌱 4.5 million seedlings grown annually, including 1.8 million Western Red Cedar saplings
🌳 Three trees grown for every tree harvested

Sustainability is at the heart of responsible forestry. By investing in regeneration and planting more trees than are harvested, Western Forest Products is helping to protect and maintain the forests for generations to come.

It’s great to see the commitment to responsible forest management first-hand and to be part of a supply chain that values the future of our forests.

Out with the old, in with the new. What a transformation!

Our customer shared their experience after upgrading their old fence:

“The garden fence was getting a bit old and a few panels had broken.

After looking at different options we didn’t want to have the same panels and be replacing them again if there was a bad storm or after 5-10 years like the last few. Every year we were swapping a panel that had failed.

We looked at several options that we could use including composite panels, but wanted the option to change the colour if we got bored in the future.

We came across an amazing product which was produced locally and is resistant to rotting due to its treatment process.

Easy-Fit Fencing have created an amazing product that is really easy to install.

I would 100% recommend these panels as they were more cost effective than composite, they’re a natural product, you can paint or stain them to suit your tastes and they’re a local business.”
