One year ago today, I took over a new role with huge responsibility at Tintwise Ltd.
Like many people in business, I was very aware of the statistics and stereotypes surrounding the first year. There are always challenges, uncertainty, and plenty of moments where you question whether you're making the right decisions. Because of that, I approached our first year with cautious optimism and an understanding that there was much to learn.
Looking back today, I couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved.
In just twelve months, we've transformed so much more than the appearance of the business. We've moved into a new location, built purpose-designed workshop and offices, invested in new vehicles, introduced a completely new and much needed brand identity, and laid the foundations for the business we always envisioned.
What I'm most proud of, however, isn't the buildings or the branding—it's the culture we've created.
From day one, we committed to having a clear 'North Star': a vision that would guide every decision we made. Alongside that, we've worked hard to ensure our core values aren't just buzzwords which are bandied about, but principles that run through every part of Tintwise—from the way we support one another as a team to the service we provide every customer.
That commitment has allowed us to strengthen relationships with the fantastic local clients that have supported us over the years, while also expanding beyond Sussex into London and the surrounding counties. Working with new clients in the capital has been an exciting milestone for us and comes as a result of the hard work and diligence we have displayed this past year - something the entire team can feel proud of.
I don't want to sound too cliché but absolutely none of this happens without great people. To our installation teams, our customers, our suppliers, and everyone who has trusted and supported us over the last year—thank you. You've all played a part in what we've achieved together.
This first year has been about building strong foundations. The next chapter is about building on them.
