♥️ Love colourful kitchens, but don’t want to make the wrong choice? Here are 5 things to consider before choosing yours.
From rich plum and forest green to deep navy, bold kitchen colours can bring warmth, character and personality to your home.
But before you commit, here are five things worth thinking about:
♥️ Consider the natural light
Colours can look very different depending on the direction your kitchen faces and the time of day. A shade that looks rich and warm in one room might appear much darker in another.
♥️ Get the balance right
Bold cabinetry works beautifully alongside more neutral worktops, flooring and walls. Giving stronger colours room to shine can create a more balanced look.
♥️ Think about the finishing touches. Handles, taps and other fittings can completely change the feel of a kitchen. Warm brass, for example, works beautifully with rich plum tones, while chrome can create a cooler, more contemporary look.
♥️ Consider your cabinet style.
A classic Shaker door can give a bold colour a timeless feel. Think about how the colour and style work together, rather than choosing them separately.
♥️ Always test before committing
Don't rely on photographs or online colour samples. Look at physical samples in your own home, alongside your flooring and worktops, and in different lighting conditions.
♥️And finally? Don't be afraid to go beautifully bold!
