💡 How we like to paint around spotlights!

When it comes to painting ceilings around downlights, here are 3 ways we tackle it 👇

1️⃣ Drop them down – Simply pull the spotlights down enough to paint around them.

2️⃣ Tools Spot Drops – Our favourite option! 👌 These hold the spotlights away from the ceiling, leaving just enough room to get your brush around them without making a mess.

3️⃣ Twist the face plates off – If you’re lucky enough to have removable face plates, take them off and paint away! 🙌

Little things like this make getting a clean finish so much easier.

🔨 How to fill rawl plugs like a pro!

Got a wall full of raw plugs that need filling before you paint? Here’s a quick tip from Liam 👇

First, grab a nail punch and hammer and gently knock the rawl plug slightly below the surface of the wall.

Once it’s recessed, apply your filler over the top and leave it to dry. Give it a sand once dry, and you’re left with a smooth surface ready for paint. 🎨

A simple little trick that makes filling rawl plugs much easier and helps give you a cleaner finish!

🎨 PAINT STRAINING TIP!

Ever opened your paint only to find little lumps, flakes or bits hiding in it? 😩

We’ve been using the Tools Tough Nets to strain our paint before it hits the walls, helping to get all those unwanted bits out and leaving you with a much smoother finish.

They’re durable, reusable and stretch straight over the scuttle, gripping onto the rim so you can crack on without making a mess. 👌

It’s one of those little tools that makes a big difference on site — especially when you’re after that clean, professional finish.

🎨 Thursday at Magic!

Today we’ve started another house while also getting another one snagged and finished — the boys have been cracking on and getting more of the house coated up! 💪

Liam also shows off his new 18” Wooster roller, picked up from MyPaintBrush.co.uk.

With its extra-long pile, it holds loads more paint, helping get more coverage on the wall and keeping things moving on bigger jobs. 🎨

And another little site tip from Liam — Pinnacle brushes from Toolstation are a great shout for everyday decorating work, especially when you’re going through plenty of brushes on site.

We’re kicking off a new project for in Marlow, transforming a kitchen area and snug with some beautiful Farrow & Ball colours!

🔧 Today’s tips:
🔹 Filling rawl plug holes by knocking them further into the wall with a nail punch.

🔹 Using Zeke paint strainers to remove old debris and keep your paint clean.

🔹 Three ways to paint around spotlights: drop them down, use Zeke Spot Drops, or remove the faceplate.

🎨 TIP OF THE DAY – Cut in faster with a mini roller!
Want to speed up your cutting in? 👀
