The Haslemere project is moving on! First and second floors now have freshly plastered ceilings, ready for second fix carpentry before the painting starts. Dormer bathroom insulated and boarded and a host of other rooms are being worked through. Electrical works nearing completion, first fix plumbing and heating mostly finished, and the roof is done. Trees are also coming down to open up the entrance and remove any dead/damaged areas. Soon time for cabinetry and carpentry throughout!

Last push on the patio project to finish off. Reclaimed slate slabs laid and pointed, decorative gravel added and the last of the 'new build' slabs in against the fence on the lower patio now completes this project. Not bad for 4 days work!

A long bank holiday obviously means helping friends landscape their garden! This typical new build setup, with it's tiny patio, random shed placement and steep lawn, got split into existing and new with a sleeper retaining wall framing a raised patio area. We managed to clear, build the wall, backfill ready for slabs, and lay concrete in 2.5 days. We included a new veg patch as well to utilise some of the space in front of the patio doors. The shed will be slid over in a few days so it's closer to the fence once it's gone off. Last day of the long weekend at home before jumping head first back into the 'big reno project'

Squeezing in the last few jobs before our big 3 month refurb project begins. This playroom was great while the kids were young, but now it needed to be 3 rooms in one. Now it's a snug/games room, a gym, and the spare room! A beautiful birch ply custom made desk allows 2x occupants to work side by side (and will eventually house the gaming pc and consoles!), while a matching screen hides the folding treadmill. With space for the sofa bed, there is plenty of room for relaxing, and when the TV gets mounted in the frame above the desk, the room will be complete. Colour drenched in Little Greene 'Woad' for maximum impact!

Wardrobes removed in this property to allow the wall to breathe. Built with no air gap, the clothes inside were damp, with mini dehumidifiers filling up constantly. Wall was found to be bone dry but mouldy suggesting a lack of airflow issue, rather than penetrating damp issue as advised by others. Hopefully now just a treatment and paint rather than a full strip and tank saving £3k.
