I attended a property today to swap the old washing machine for the new model. While disconnecting the old unit, I found that the main Earth wire in the hardwired outlet plate had come loose, which posed a serious safety hazard ⚠️ Because cutting the plug off the new machine would void the client's warranty, we removed the outlet plate and installed a standard single socket instead. The new socket is now safely powered and isolated by the existing switched fused spur above the worktop 🔌😁
