Another period property, another set of windows brought back to life this month.

This one needed sympathetic repair rather than replacement, with rotten sections cut out and remade in matching timber before painting. The owners keep their original glass and their original character, along with windows that will see them through the next winter without a draught.

Traditional joinery skills aren't something you pick up overnight.

Our apprentices spend years alongside experienced craftsmen learning to read timber, cut a proper joint and finish a piece so it will still look right in fifty years' time.

It's a slower way of training people, but it's how the standards on the Brocklesby Estate have been kept up for over a century, and it's how we intend to keep them up for the next one.

Every project starts on the timber rack, long before it reaches a client's home.

When off-the-shelf just won’t do.

When our client came to us with a request for a statement oak dining table for their large holiday rental property, they had very specific requirements.

✅It must be sustainable oak
✅The design should be contemporary, yet still in keeping with the Georgian period house
✅It should be able to seat 16
✅It should have a natural, yet hardwearing finish.
