Names for our transit tippers! What you got?

I want to name our two transit tippers as we don’t really have an easy way of referring to them.

I’m thinking ‘famous double acts/duos’? Or maybe two halves of a word? Anything goes!

Any ideas?

A little update from Groundhog Home Hardware.

Hello everyone! For those who don’t already know me, I’m James, and I’m very proud to introduce myself as the soon-to-be new owner of Groundhog Home Hardware.

I’m incredibly excited to be taking over such a successful, well-run and much-loved business - one that’s clearly a real asset to the local community.

Although I have a background in supplying building and DIY products, I know I still have plenty to learn. I’m looking forward to getting to know the team and customers, learning how Groundhog operates and understanding what makes the shop so special.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be listening closely to the team and to you, our customers, to learn what you value most about Groundhog and what you would like to see in the future.

I would really value your input, so please share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions in the comments below. Your feedback will help shape Groundhog’s next chapter, and I’d love to hear from as many of you as possible.

We’ve had a little smarten up in the yard! And what a glorious day for it too!

This move has been over a year in the making, but I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to becoming the new owner of this amazing business!

I think everyone will agree when I say that the team at Groundhog are what makes the shop - And the comments on this post absolutely confirm this.

Twelve years ago, we took on the old builders' yard on The Street with a vision to create a hardware store for Poringland and surrounding areas.

Thanks to the unwavering support of our family, our dedicated staff, and this incredible community, we’ve built something we are truly proud of.

The time is right for us to now hand over the keys to ensure the continued success of our cherished store. We are absolutely thrilled that James Ramsden from SLS Building Supplies will be the new owner. We have full confidence in his leadership, and are pleased to confirm the shop will continue with the same staff, service, and community spirit you know and love.

We want to say a huge thank you to our fantastic team and our wonderful customers for being part of this journey. We wish James every success for the future.

Although we now supply a very wide range of building materials, aggregates was where it all started for our Scratby yard over 10 years ago.
And I still love seeing our tipper trucks leaving the yard with a full load!
