From the heat 🥵 to the rain 🌧️ it’s been a busy and varied couple of weeks all over Essex, and the weather has definitely increased the need for door realignments and window fixing!

The highlight was a trip over to Northey Island for the National Trust.

A good majority of my jobs have come from Facebook forums and personal recommendations so thank you for taking the time to comment and recommend me - it is much appreciated. 🙏

Home from a lovely cruise around Norway, bags unpacked and was straight back to work- before Zoe could even put the washing on!!

Returned a few pounds heavier 😬but fully recharged and looking forward to seeing customers who have kindly waited for my return this week 🔑🚐

People often keep valuable office equipment, tools, bikes and gym apparatus in these outbuildings.

I often get asked what key safe people should buy and always recommend to avoid the cheap ones. Not only are they easy to decode ... but as you can see from my basic experiment that they do not withstand just one hammer blow from me !!!😮

I thought I would share this BBC post for awareness and because this sort of thing happens more often than people realise and something I see regularly.

Customers get quoted a low call-out fee from a so-called locksmith, only to be left with a lock that has been damaged unnecessarily and a huge bill to pay!

I just want to do my bit to share this message so other people do not get scammed. If you are aware, then it could save you a lot of money, anxiety and aggravation.

Find a trusted local locksmith ( like me 😊) and store their details on your phone. You never know when you or somebody you know will suddenly and urgently need a locksmith. Here is my number to store 07827 071812 👍

Well here we are then, back after a family holiday in Lanzarote. 🏖

This may look like a burglary attempt...
But it's not. This is what happens when you call a rogue locksmith!
A customer got locked out, panicked and called the first emergency locksmith advertising on Google.
An hour later someone turned up in a car wearing a tracksuit and carrying a drill. He said (in broken English) that the lock needed to be drilled (it didn't).
He then spent the next hour and a half drilling the lock - but still couldn't get in. He then got out a crowbar! At that point the customer thankfully told him to go and called me instead.
Door was open in less than a minute of me arriving with no additional damage. I then replaced the lock that was drilled out.
Moral of the story is: If you need an emergency locksmith, don't panic, take your time, find a genuine local professional locksmith. One with good reviews or recommendations.
If you live in Essex, store my number on your phone - you never know when you or someone you know will suddenly need me.
