Wells is a family run business which was first established in 1962 by Richard James Wells. He and his wife Irene bought a small plot of land in Great Eccleston. He built a small workshop on the site and began servicing and repairing the vehicles and trailers of local farmers and haulage contractors. Still a family run business today, the company is directed by his two sons, Alan and John and his d

aughter Carol. In 1992 a second workshop and site was opened at Higher Bartle. Both sites now have several modernised workshops and friendly, competent staff. The main site in Great Eccleston has an extensive range of commercial, industrial and light vehicles to hire. One speciality is the conversion of semi trailers to 44 tonne tipping skeletal trailers and bulk blowers, another is Lloyds coded welding fabrication. In addition, the company offers MOT testing facilities, servicing, repairs, shotblasting, powder coasting and on-line wet coat spray painting of engineering and commercial vehicle parts.
