The second part of the previously posted hallway restoration - here we see two bespoke alcove cupboards, an arch which is, in actual fact, a chimney joining two fireplaces, oak flooring, pammet tiles,butt and bead panelling and entrance vestibule with a high quality front door. At one point in the early history of this house I expect the entire ground floor was actually at the lower level seen by the door, latterly raised to incorporate a cellar, with good head height, and the chimney. Graffiti found etched in the carpentry dates this part of the property to 1717 - work included, design, carpentry conservation, lime plastering and plaster repair, floor restoration, bespoke cupboards, pammet tile conservation, complete painting and decoration inspired by the “light academia” aesthetic.

An architecturally interesting hallway, with features from the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries decorated in a “light academia” inspired pallet from Farrow & Ball - this building probably started life as a modest dwelling, being extended over the centuries as the occupants wealth and status increased - a particularly impressive staircase is the stand out feature. Work included interior design, lime plastering, conservation carpentry, window repairs, flooring, painting and decoration
