More work in progress Wednesday reels, this time sharpening the flutes on the rearbrace of the English arms. Making arms like this is part maths, part eye but all passion.

Back from Tewkesbury. What can I say, hot and awesome. When I say awesome I mean my customers. It’s been a hard few years and it’s taken everything I have catching up but I could not have done it without the support and patience of my customers. I still have a long way to go but a new horizon is in sight. Lots of exiting new enquiries and amazing comments. Anyway lots to sort through, quotes to do, armour and brigandines to make.

After a tricky week and a delayed Friday we are setup at Tewkesbury Medieval Festival. Unfortunately due to a technical breakdown we cannot take card payments this weekend, cash and transfers only. After a busy Friday evening we only have a 2 open sallets, 1 pair of English gauntlets and only a few arming doublets left

A late lunch to cool down offer a record breaking temperature during tinning run. Even with the fan running it was pretty unbearable with a high of 63.4 degrees 🥵. After a bit of a mechanical breakdown a few months ago and rebuild it’s great to have the tinning workshop back up and running! It’s a bit more bearable now and the freshly tinned plates have been cleaned, inspected and are now drying in the sun.
I don’t know about turning coffee into armour, maybe ice coffee this time 😎.

A work in progress Wednesday shot! This has been under my bench in several stages so I’m going to look at finishing it between orders. Authough it can be worn on its own it is specifically shaped to go over a brigandine. It’s very important that if you do get a plackart to go over your brigandine you get it from a professional. I have recently seen some vendors selling armour that has damaged arming doublets and brigandines due to poor shaping, rough rolled edges and burrs left on edges.
Anyway so much to get done and catching up on my list.
