Finished touches on this bathroom project. ✨

Added an IP rated LED strip inside a niche above the bath, along with an ARC LED Fino Mini downlight in the niche above the toilet to give it a subtle, premium finish. Simple details that make a big difference. ⚫💡

BUNGALOW REWIRE

Currently rewiring a bungalow that apparently comes with a complimentary extreme loft yoga challenge. Whoever designed this loft clearly believed electricians should also qualify as contortionists. I’ve spent the day wedged between joists, shuffling through gaps roughly the size of a cereal box, and trying to convince my knees they still work. On the bright side, the cables are going in nicely… and if I ever get stuck up here permanently, at least the lighting circuit will be perfect.

SATURDAY GRAFT💪

Getting stuck into a full bungalow rewire today. Lighting circuits all going in and making a start on the socket runs before the stud walls go up. It's always a good feeling seeing it all starting to come together ⚡️

🚨 Call Out – Burning Smell Investigation 🚨

Attended a property following reports of a burning smell coming from the FCU supplying a washer/dryer.

On arrival, there was clear thermal damage visible to the faceplate. After further investigation, we found significant heat damage internally caused by a loose connection. 🔥⚡

Loose terminations can quickly escalate into serious fire risks if left unchecked.

✅ Issue made safe
⚠️ Advised that an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is strongly recommended to assess the overall safety of the installation.

If you notice unusual smells, heat, or discolouration around electrical points – get it checked immediately. Safety first.

I always secure the strands - Crimped with a bootlace ferrule.

Loose strands = poor contact, heat build-up & potential failure.

Neat termination. Full contact. No stray copper.
Do it once, do it right. 💪
