A small safety item that can easily get overlooked.
This boiler flue terminal is fitted at low level, so it has a protective guard to prevent accidental contact and protect the terminal.
As you can see, the guard has rusted badly and is starting to break down. Once a flue guard deteriorates like this, it may no longer provide proper protection, and damaged sections could potentially distort, collapse, or interfere with the flue terminal.
It is worth checking low-level boiler flue guards from time to time, especially on older installations exposed to the weather.
A simple visual check can help spot corrosion before it becomes a bigger issue.
