This is another repeat customer in this area and I’m happy to do the work for her. The old patio was in poor condition sinking tiles and a run off far too steep. So I begun by removing the old flags and digging out the high areas to help reduce this garden slope which is considerable.

New full base compacted to a level finish ready for new flags. Full cement mortar bed (no dot and dab) and Global Kalanda sandstone flags in a combination pack. The shed was done a few months ago when I laid the base ready for the rest of the work. This is now surrounded with the sandstone too and looks rather nice. There’s a small amount of finishing to the front of the shed as it’s quite a slope off. A suitable timber front would look nice and tie well into the decking. This was an enjoyable job and has made a nice difference to the entire garden. Grouting in Sika Fastfix Deep Grey so this will bring everything together nicely.

COMPLETE
This is a simple enough job even with a sloping garden. The client needed a new shed and base for the garden. The old one sadly has really had its day and is a bit big for the garden, so that’s on its way out.

In the meantime I have shuttered and based a slab then poured concrete to C20 but reinforcement wasn’t going to be needed as it only a light unit. The shed itself was supplied by Forest Garden UK, a simple weather board style shed with double doors. Built nicely made by the manufacturer, I would suggest these as a good supplier of garden woodwork.

COMPLETE
This was a large gable wall and had its fair share of issues. Mostly badly eroded areas with deep soft mortar. An old movement crack down the front right and a few large voids in the courses. Typical for this area but very due for work. Now finished with a full grind out and fill with a quality mortar. Thanks to KB scaffolds for another excellent job.

Next was the rear patio and paving area which has been down a good time and needed repointing and resetting in places. Lots of small odd cuts so I hope the smaller prices hold fast. I think the owners may look at replacing this in the next few years.

Back to this garden I know well, it really is changing in here now with a new summer house new patio and paving new fencing the post goes on.

All supplied locally form our Jacksons Timber Limited Calder Bridge. Fully treated timbers with concrete gravel boards, morticed posts, fancy caps and their own arched lattice panels. Bit of a run on the garden but that’s not unusual here. More to come on this job.

This nice house on the top end of Egremount is deceiving in size. Front and back repoint with the kitchen extension added. The usual wear and tear on this one with a few little issues. All now sorted

COMPLETE

This is fairly large patio measuring over 43sqm. Set in Global Raje Sandstone Flags and finished with Sika Fastfix resin grout. Retained the lawn with sleepers for a nice effect and set the drainage into the main drain. That drain was then raised and changed for an insert tray type which allows me to cut a flagstone to fit the top. A full compacted sub base on this job as it’s such large area. Then in with a good quality mix and steady laying of flags

I’ve been pressed with the Global flags they are more than adequate for this type of work and there reasonably priced if you come though is.

This home is in a beautiful part of the county and has large well tended gardens complete with its own Peacock and hen.

The property has suffered with water lock over the years and the faces are showing it too. However as you can see it’s all in rather nice shape now. A full rake out of the old chisel edge mortar and in with a full lime hydrate mix. The weather has played havoc with both the job and my diary but now the weathers settling again I should catch up fast. Many thanks to the clients for their patients while the weather did it thing.
