💧 ONE ROOF LEAK… ONE BATHROOM CEILING LATER 🔨

What started with a leaking roof turned into a full ceiling rebuild.

Once we opened it up, there was only one way to do it — strip the damaged ceiling right back and rebuild it properly.

New insulation ✅
New moisture-resistant plasterboard ✅
New LED downlights ✅
Full new Xpelair extractor fan installation ✅
Light switch relocated to outside the bathroom ✅

And then there’s the bit builders don’t normally show you… 😂

🎯 One slight mis-hit when cutting the new switch position.

No hiding it. Patch it properly, finish it properly and move on. You’d never know it was there now. 👌

The bathroom previously had no extractor fan at all, so while everything was opened up we installed the complete ventilation setup rather than just putting the ceiling back exactly as it was.

Sometimes a problem gives you the opportunity to put everything right.

That’s the difference between repairing it and improving it. 👌

🏠 FLAT ROOF REPLACEMENT – MEXBOROUGH

Another tired flat roof sorted properly. 👊

The existing roof had been felted over felt over the years, but once it started failing, the problems underneath became clear.

The roof boards were soft and squashy, so there was no point trying to patch over it again.

We carried out a full rip-out back to a solid base, replaced the failed boarding and installed a complete GRP fibreglass roofing system — giving the customer a strong, seamless and watertight finish built to last. 💪

✅ Old felt roof completely stripped
✅ Failed/soft boards removed
✅ New roof deck installed
✅ Full GRP fibreglass system
✅ Proper trims and detailing
✅ Clean, durable, low-maintenance finish

🛠️ GRP roofing kit supplied by Meir Roofing & Insulation Supplies Goole

No more felt on felt. No more temporary fixes. Strip it back and do it properly.

🎬 BEHIND THE SCENES IN HOOK…

Forget the polished transformation photos—this is what actually happened on the job. 😂

The mini digger ran straight over the manhole and knocked a load of stone down it… so Big Shoe had to go in head-first, sliding past the Henry the Thirds to fish it all back out. 💩🤣

Meanwhile, Ian developed a serious case of trench foot—and Jase, the Black Belt Builder, put the tiles in a chokehold and got them laid. 🥋

Just another completely normal day with the Rescape team…

Big Shoe down the manhole, Ian losing the feeling in his feet and Jase grappling with porcelain—but somehow, we still produced one hell of a garden transformation! 💪

A GARDEN FOR THE KIDS… WITHOUT MAKING IT A KIDS’ GARDEN. 👌🏼

This one was a proper collaboration between our client and the Rescape team.

The brief was interesting — create somewhere that was safe, child-friendly and fun, but at the same time give the adults a garden they could actually use, relax in and enjoy.

During the design we worked with our client’s ideas and added a few Rescape touches of our own.

One of our favourites was where the porcelain flows into the Trex decking to form the step rather than simply stopping one material and starting another.

Fused mitred corners heated and bent so no gap on the mitre 😉

It’s a small detail, but it’s probably one of our favourite parts of the entire garden.

Then we had 5 manholes to contend with down the pathway. 😅

Instead of having covers scattered all over a brand-new porcelain path, we took the extra time to get all five running straight and perfectly inline.

Simple round the pipe cuts standard! No orange gully’s left on this job 👀

Again, it’s one of those details you might not immediately notice.

But we would!

Garden room supplied & built by Rescape 🤩

The finished garden brings together:

🇮🇹 Wals Grigio Italian porcelain supplied by RF Paving
🌱 Rescape Everest 45mm artificial grass
🪵 Trex composite decking
🔩 Rescape ground screw system
⚒️ Custom-made balustrades, made specifically for this deck
☀️ Pergola & dedicated hot-tub area
♻️ skip from Wold skips

There’s space for the kids to play, plenty of open porcelain for entertaining, a covered area to relax, and a garden that can change with the family as the kids grow up.

Child-friendly now. Completely usable for the adults. And designed so it won’t feel like a playground forever.

That’s what we wanted from this one.

Client ideas + Rescape design + the Rescape team bringing it all together. 💪🏼
