Next week is a mixed bag of weather; good ole June. I'm working in Elstead, Chiddingfold, Puttenham, Busbridge, Thursley & Saturday is Farnborough [my border design garden of May].

Then tools down for Sunday 14th June. My grandson will be 9 years old. I'd just really was in the first year of my business 2017 when he was born and worked my socks off in gardens, learnt so much. With my side kick dog beside my side, we did good.

I have been fortunate to watch my grandchildren grow, my allotment was a godsend in Covid19 in that very hot spell that lasted a lifetime & reminded me of 1976 heatwave.

I've balanced my work now to a point that is comfort and the pattern stays the same.

Then last week it rained 🌧 and I found myself juggling AGAIN, waterproofs, drenched, tools needing a darn good clean & as I sit here thinking "I really need to mow the lawn before it rains"

Which I think is the common phrase for everyone at the present time.

Enjoy your Sunday & next weekπŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄

Elderflowers are the delicate, creamy-white blossoms of the elder tree (Sambucus nigra), highly prized for their sweet, summery fragrance and distinct floral-muscat taste. They are a classic seasonal foraging find, appearing in late spring to early summer, and are commonly used to make cordials, teas, and desserts.

In all the 8 years of gardening here in Haslemere I have never seen such colour all at once. Lupins were amazing and back drop of roses, foxgloves stunning.

Unfortunately the ole boy's son planted a cherry tree in front of this glorious display. I said it really needs to be moved but nope.

My silly camera doesn't so it justice but you get the picture πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄

People entirely panic when June arrives and their vegetable beds are still half empty. They assume they've missed the boat and the summer season is already a write-off. The truth is, the soil has finally reached a decent temperature and things will actually grow instead of just sitting there sulking in the damp. Getting certain seeds in the ground now is exactly what your garden needs for a strong late-summer harvest.

Roses. Something about a Rose that brings joy to any garden. These are from clay soil and sandy soil. πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄

"So happy thank you so much! More importantly you being yourself again great to see"...this is the message I received from S, a gardening client who first contacted me 2018 to clear his very neglected rental garden. Since then, I have gardened for him on ad hoc.

Last week he contacted me and I booked him for a 4.30pm slot just to tidy his patio area & a cut back of trees. He offered me dinner yet I accepted a drink of coke zero. Sometimes I wish I was 20 years younger!!! 🀣

We have good banter and he is generous in payment, yet his message struck a chord. He knew me before a part of my life went wrong and I had a blip πŸ™

That really sometimes does make all the difference.

His comment concluded that I have come out the other end. That there is so much more i can give my 10 year old small business.

That I am stronger "you being yourself again"........ it was never my fault, it was the system's..

I took a leap of faith.

I am on the right path πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄
