I said to a gardening client the other day "it's almost as if we've jumped into Spring". Of course we haven't, yet geraniums and other struggling perennials are growing & blooming and even cyclamen are flowering. The weather forecast in my area is dry next week, & with a water ban on hosepipe, makes life harder to water.
My workhorse thankfully passed MOT at a massive cost and without good friends, I'd be well & truly stuck today. I'm on the move as well - still local - yet a village close to my heart. Absolutely no idea how logistics will pan out, yet each day unfolding is always different.
I've owned Casa Garden Design since January 2016 and I have a complete client listing. I work full time at weekends and take a day off in the week. As I help with my grandchildren, I've learnt to balance my life now. Most importantly, I've learnt when to just stop and rest.
It's 2 years since struck down with pneumonia yet this balance has worked in my favour. I've built up my strength and regardless of how many folk have said "stop working outdoors" - no thanks. I would be utterly lost without stepping into everyone's gardens with the knowledge of how i have contributed.
A horticulturist has no crystal ball about the weather, mother nature just carries on regardless, yet I've learnt to notice what has worked this year in the garden after the English heatwave.
