One of my favourite things to do is to collect all the little plants, and divide them up.
Pot them on, and keep them somewhere sheltered for next year’s flowers.

These are perennial daisy plants, that spread everywhere but are so easy to pull up and move at this time of year.

My sweet peas weren’t the best this year, but I have still managed to collect and save 14 seeds for next year.

I stopped cutting the flowers weeks ago, and left a handful to complete its cycle and turn to seed.

A vibrant blue flower, that I will be trying to grow better next year.

Collecting baby plants that are sprouting up all over my allotment garden.
These will be potted on, and stored over winter in an in-heated greenhouse.
They will then be planted out again in spring.

Collecting seeds.
I need to remember to take some envelopes, dry containers and paper bags to the plot.
There are so many seeds to collect!
So far there are Sweet Peas, Runner Beans, Fennel, Sunflower, Hollyhock, Marigolds and all kinds of lettuce.

I bought two Geum plants, both of them are sale table purchases.
Each of them were cut in half, planted into the ground, and watered in well.
Hoping they survive and flower next year.

Always time to admire the latest Sunflowers to bloom.

The Willow Herb has grown tall, flowered profusely and is about to set seed.

My one and only pumpkin struggled to get going in the heat, and has given up due to lack of water.
I just wasn’t on the plot enough to water it in.

Sweet Peas have tried their best, the colour and scent of the flowers were perfection, but was another plant that needed a constant supply of water.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the Sweetcorn will ripen, I have hope.

Zero apples to harvest this year!

A fabulous harvest.

Waiting for a dry day to collect more seeds.
The Basil has produced enough for me to grow plenty more next year.

It’s been a long wait for the Cosmos flowers, but they are finally here and looking healthy.

I’ll be harvesting the last of the Courgettes soon and digging the whole plant into the ground.

The colour on that Hollyhock is so rich and vibrant.
I’ll be collecting plenty of the seeds and making sure I label them!

Sweetcorn is not quite ready to pick.
Waiting for the corns to turn a bright yellow.
We’re nearly there.

Despite the cabbages not being covered, 3 out of 6 have developed a good ‘heart’ and I’ll be able to harvest them in September.

The carrots are the best I’ve grown this year.
Growing them in raised beds with fresh compost is the trick for my plot.

The apple trees have not done well this year.
The one in my garden has been watered more often and is heavy with fruit.

Sweetcorn is looking good and I can’t wait to harvest some.
The tomatoes are still giving, and it’s been nice to enjoy that little success.

I really wanted to grow pumpkins this year, but lack of water has stopped me from being able to do so.
Next year, I’ll have a Water butt just for pumpkin watering!

A few disappointing results, but still so many wins!
