Another project ready to get underway! ❄️🔧

A new 10 kW MHI Premium system will be installed inside this GRP enclosure, ready for its new location at Bristol Airport. ✈️

Work starts Monday, with installation and commissioning scheduled for completion the following day.

As always, the installation will be completed to the correct standards, including:

❄️ Nitrogen pressure testing
💨 Deep vacuum
⚙️ Full system commissioning
📋 All necessary testing and commissioning documentation provided on completion

Daikin VRV 4 – Fault Code L4-01

Attended site to investigate an L4-01 fault code on the Daikin VRV 4 system.

During fault finding, I discovered that 2 of the extract fans had been switched off at the control panel. This resulted in insufficient ventilation around the outdoor units, causing excessive heat to build up in the area.

The high ambient temperature contributed to the L4-01 inverter temperature protection fault.

Both extract fans were switched back on to restore the correct airflow and remove the excessive heat. The VRV system was then reset, tested and monitored, with no further faults present.

Recommendation: The extract fans should remain operational whenever the VRV systems are running to prevent excessive temperatures and potential inverter/PCB damage.

Replacing the outdoor inverter PCB following fault codes 4230 and 4240, related to an issue with the thermistor built into the board.

Following technical advice from Mitsubishi Electric, the inverter PCB is to be replaced with a new unit under warranty.

Once the new board has been installed and fully wired, the system will be commissioned and a full operational test in cooling mode will be carried out to confirm correct operation and ensure all parameters are within the manufacturer’s specifications.

28 years old and still going strong! 💪❄️

This AHU is still running amazingly well on R22 refrigerant after nearly three decades in service. A proper example of how well-built equipment, combined with the right maintenance, can stand the test of time.

Fault finding carried out on a Mitsubishi Electric system.

During our investigation, we identified several significant faults:

🔧 Compressor found down to earth
⚡ Inverter board confirmed faulty
⚡ Due to the age and condition of the outdoor unit, we also recommend replacing the power/noise filter board as a preventative measure.

The system has been left safe, and the next step will be to provide the client with repair options and costs.
