It’s probably not something you look at very often, but the top of your chimney is exposed to the elements all year round.

Fitting the right chimney cowl can help protect the opening from rain and debris, while also helping to prevent birds from getting into the chimney and causing problems. 🐦

🏠 A Seamless Solution for Flat Roofs

Not every flat roof needs the same solution. Alongside our EPDM rubber roofing, we also install liquid-coated flat roof systems.

A liquid coating is applied across the roof to create a seamless, waterproof finish, making it particularly useful for roofs with awkward shapes, detailing or areas that can be difficult to cover with other systems.

Once applied, it forms a tough, durable layer designed to protect the roof from the elements, without the joins and seams you might associate with more traditional flat roofing materials.

🏠 Still Relying on Cement to Hold Your Ridge Tiles in Place?

Take a look at the very top of your roof. If you can see cracked, loose or missing cement around your ridge or hip tiles, it could be time to get them looked at.

Rather than simply re-cementing them, we can upgrade your roof to a modern dry ridge or dry hip system.

Instead of relying on mortar, the tiles are mechanically fixed into position, creating a secure, long lasting finish that requires far less maintenance going forward.

Another big advantage is ventilation. A ventilated dry ridge system can help create airflow through the roof space, reducing the build-up of moisture and helping with condensation, particularly useful as we head into the colder months. 🌬️

🌬️🏠 Good Roof Ventilation Matters All Year Round

As we head towards the colder months, now is a great time to make sure your roof has the ventilation it needs.

When warm, moist air from inside your home reaches a cold roof space, it can create condensation. Without enough airflow, that moisture can build up and lead to damp, mould, wet insulation and problems with the roof timbers over time.

We regularly improve ventilation by fitting over-fascia vents, tile vents and dry ridge or hip systems, all designed to create better airflow through the roof space and help reduce moisture.
