🌿 SIDE GARDEN TRANSFORMATION | ELM GLOUCESTERSHIRE 🌿

What a difference a tidy, low-maintenance garden can make! 👌

This side garden was in need of some attention, with w**ds growing through the existing gravel and the area looking tired and overgrown.

We transformed the space by clearing away the unwanted growth, preparing the ground and laying w**d suppressant membrane before installing a fresh gravel finish. The result is a much cleaner, neater and more practical outdoor space that’s easier to maintain. ✨

✨ Patio Transformation – Before & After ✨

What a difference a new patio can make! 👌

We recently transformed this tired and dated patio area into a clean, modern and practical outdoor space for our customer.

🔨 The work included:
• Removal of the existing patio
• Preparation and excavation of the area
• Installation of a new, fully prepared patio base
• Premium porcelain paving laid with a contemporary staggered layout
• Neat curved detailing around the lawn
• Contrasting golden/antique-style edging to give the patio a defined finish
• Clean, sharp pointing and attention to detail throughout
• Finished off neatly around the existing lawn, fencing and property

The new porcelain gives the garden a much brighter and more modern feel, while the curved edge helps the patio flow naturally into the lawn rather than looking overly square.

A relatively small area, but a huge improvement to the overall garden. 🌿🏡

🌿 WHAT A TRANSFORMATION! 🤩 🌿

Another garden completely transformed by ELM Gloucestershire – Elite Landscaping & Maintenance. 💪🏼

This project was all about turning an overgrown, tired and underused garden into a clean, practical and enjoyable outdoor space for the customers to make the most of. 🌱➡️🏡

The before photos show a garden that had become heavily overgrown, with an untidy lawn area, tired planting beds and a patio that no longer made the most of the available space.

After stripping everything back, clearing the overgrown areas and getting the garden properly prepared, we created a much more spacious and usable layout.

✨ The finished transformation included:

✅ Extensive garden clearance and preparation
✅ Removal of the overgrown lawn and unwanted vegetation
✅ Large new patio area
✅ New raised planting beds
✅ Timber green house built
✅ Fresh topsoil, compost and manure to the planting areas
✅ New planting and trees
✅ New steps between levels
✅ Careful finishing and attention to detail throughout
✅ A complete clean-up ready for the customers to enjoy

The result is a much larger-feeling, low-maintenance and versatile garden, with plenty of space for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. ☀️🌿

One of the biggest differences is how much more usable the garden now feels. Rather than having separate, awkward areas, the new layout brings everything together and makes much better use of the available space.

From the patio and raised beds through to the planting and finishing touches, every part of the garden has been designed and constructed to create a practical space that will look great for years to come.

🏡 BEFORE & AFTER – What a Transformation! 🤩

Another garden transformation completed by ELM Gloucestershire — and what a difference!

This garden had a tired, dated patio area and an old conservatory taking up a large amount of the space. The existing paving was uneven and weathered, making the whole area feel quite dark and disconnected from the house.

We completely transformed the space into a clean, modern and practical outdoor entertaining area. 👌🏼

🔨 The work included:
• Removal of the existing patio
• Removal of the old conservatory
• Preparation and excavation of the existing area
• Installation of a new, modern porcelain patio
• Carefully planned falls and drainage to ensure water runs away correctly
• Neat perimeter edging
• Precise cuts around the house, doors and boundaries
• Detailed jointing and finishing
• Full clean-down ready for the customer to enjoy

The result is a much brighter, larger-feeling and more usable outdoor space, creating a fantastic connection between the house and garden. 🌿☀️

The large-format paving gives the area a contemporary finish while keeping the design simple and timeless — exactly the sort of space that can be enjoyed for entertaining, relaxing or simply making better use of the garden.

👀 From tired and dated… to clean, modern and completely transformed.

This is why we love what we do! 💪🏼

🌿 GARDEN TRANSFORMATION – BEFORE & AFTER 🌿

Another garden brought back to life by ELM Gloucestershire 💪🏽

This project shows just how much difference a good clear-out and some careful landscaping work can make.

📸 BEFORE ➡️ AFTER

The garden had become heavily overgrown, with planting, climbing growth, pots, trellis and various garden features taking up a lot of the available space.

We’ve worked through the garden to clear back the overgrown areas, remove unwanted growth and structures, tidy the planting areas and open up the patio, creating a much more usable and manageable outdoor space.

The result is a garden that feels far more open, spacious and practical, while still retaining the character of the existing space. 🌱

Whether you’re looking for a complete garden transformation, patio/landscaping work, garden clearance or ongoing maintenance, ELM Gloucestershire can help.

🔨 Our services include:
• Patios & paving
• Porcelain & natural stone
• Driveways
• Garden clearances
• Fencing & gates
• Retaining walls & raised beds
• Turfing & levelling
• Planting & borders
• Hedge & tree cutting
• Garden maintenance
• Full garden transformations

Sneak peek at one of our current projects 👀💪🏽

2 men. 5 days in. And what a transformation already! 🔥

The porcelain is going down beautifully, with all the prep work and attention to detail making sure we get the finish just right.

Still plenty to do, but we’re absolutely smashing it! 💪🏽

Another garden transformed by ELM Gloucestershire — taking a tired and dated outdoor space and turning it into a much more practical, modern and enjoyable garden.

This project involved a complete redesign of the existing garden, with a combination of new landscaping and clever use of existing materials to maximise the space while keeping the overall design cohesive.

🔨 The project included:

▪️ New porcelain patio — a clean, contemporary paved area providing the perfect space for outdoor seating and entertaining.

▪️ Sleeper retaining wall — constructed to retain the patio area and create definition between the different levels of the garden.

▪️ Existing slabs carefully lifted and relaid — rather than replacing perfectly usable paving, we redesigned the layout and reused the existing slabs to create a much wider and more practical pathway around the garden for wheelchair access.

▪️ New sandstone paving circle — a feature circular patio added to break up the lawn and create a dedicated focal point within the garden.

▪️ Complete rear fencing replacement — new timber fencing installed with concrete posts and gravel boards to give the garden a fresh, clean finish and improve privacy.

▪️ New timber gate — completing the boundary work and providing a smart, secure access point.

🌱 The result?

A garden that feels larger, more structured and considerably more usable, with clearly defined areas for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying the garden.

We particularly like how the combination of the contemporary porcelain paving, natural sandstone feature and timber elements gives the garden a balance of modern and traditional landscaping.

At ELM Gloucestershire, we don’t just install gardens — we look at how the space can be redesigned to work better for you, while making the most of existing features and materials wherever possible.

✨ Full Indian Sandstone Restoration Complete! ✨

This project is a perfect example of how a professional restoration can completely transform tired, weathered paving without the expense of replacing it.

Over the years, the patio and front pathway had become heavily stained with dirt, algae and stubborn black spot, while a number of paving slabs had become loose and the joints had started to fail.

Here’s what we carried out:

🧼 Two specialist cleaning treatments
• Professional patio cleaner to break down dirt, algae and organic growth.
• Dedicated black spot remover to tackle the deep, stubborn lichen staining common on Indian sandstone.

💦 Two thorough pressure washes
After each treatment, the paving was pressure washed to remove years of built-up grime and reveal the stone’s original colours and natural beauty.

🔨 Loose paving slabs re-bonded
Any loose or wobbly paving slabs were carefully lifted where necessary and re-bonded to provide a solid, stable surface before re-pointing.

🧱 Old grout removed & patio fully re-grouted
All failed jointing was completely removed before the entire patio and front pathway were re-pointed using a premium resin jointing compound, creating a strong, w**d-resistant and durable finish.

✨ Sandstone sealer & colour enhancer applied
Finally, the paving was treated with a high-quality sandstone sealer and colour enhancer. This enriched the natural tones of the stone while providing long-lasting protection against staining, weathering and water ingress.

The transformation speaks for itself. The natural colours are back, the paving is solid underfoot, the joints are crisp and the entire outdoor space has been given a new lease of life.

If your patio is looking tired, stained, or suffering from loose slabs and failing joints, don’t assume it needs replacing. A professional restoration can deliver outstanding results at a fraction of the cost of a new patio.
