Meister were delighted to attend Marmomac, the leading international event in the natural stone industry as it celebrated its 60th anniversary.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity to explore the latest technologies, materials and innovations shaping the future of natural stone. It was also an invaluable chance to connect with businesses from across the globe, strengthen existing relationships and discover new opportunities for collaboration across this growing and evolving industry.

Away from the exhibition, the Meister Team enjoyed a fantastic evening in Verona with LSI, catching up with friends, colleagues and industry partners who share our passion for natural stone and our vision for its future.

Events like these highlight the importance of collaboration, knowledge-sharing and strong industry relationships in continuing to drive innovation and celebrate the enduring value of natural stone.

A brilliant few days of inspiration, connection and shared ambition for the future of our industry.

When we start working with a new client, we find that when they bring us in early, we talk through the stone options based on the design intent. Then we can flag problems before they happen and work out what's realistic in the client's budget. it’s easier to make changes in the planning stage rather than later down the line when the stones have already been cut or installed.

That’s why we offer design and consulting. We often find that our clients save time and money as we help prevent costly changes later on in the project.

Next in our Behind the Work series is Jordan, who has been part of the Meister team for 1 year and 3 months. He’s our Banker Mason, so day-to-day, you can find Jordan carving and sculpting stone. Since joining Meister, he has really been able to hone and develop his carving skills. Carving is more time-consuming than people expect.

He enjoys the variety of people he gets to work with, and of course, the sculpting itself. His favourite stone to work with is Portland stone because he says it gives the best finish and it’s easy to work with. When he’s not sculpting, you can find Jordan enjoying a cup of coffee and spending time with his family.

We’re so happy to have you, Jordan!

This is one of the first stages in preparing stone for production.

Large blocks of natural stone arrive with us from the quarry before being carefully cut down ready for the next stage of their journey through the workshop.

Here, the wire saw works through the block while water keeps the wire cool and helps to suppress dust. Our team monitors the process throughout, making sure each cut is made as planned.

It’s one of those stages you rarely see once the finished stonework reaches a building, but an important part of getting there.

A great evening at the HQR London Ball on Saturday, catching up with familiar faces and spending time with people from across the High Quality Residential sector.

It was brilliant to see the generosity in the room too. Meister was pleased to play a part in the auction, helping to raise £5,250 by auctioning a stay at our owner Richard Heather’s holiday home in Austria.

It was also clearly a lucky night if your name was Harry and you worked for Size Group, with both Harry Dunning and Harry Sanderson, who joined us as guests, winning raffle prizes!

A big thank you to HQR London for putting on such a wonderful evening, and to all of our guests who joined us from Cranatt Construction, BLDA Architects, Size Group, Kingerlee, Sherlock of London, LSI, Wooldridge & Simpson, Christian Fleming Architects and UK Construction Marketing.

Around the table with Meister:

Andrew Powell – Cranatt Construction

Bart Gloger – BLDA Architects

Harry Dunning – Size Group

Harry Sanderson – Size Group

Craig Parrott – Christian Fleming Architects

Dom Stringer – Wooldridge & Simpson

Regina Vitorio – LSI

Alex Allinson – Kingerlee

Massimo Fanin - BLDA

Matt Richardson - Size Group

Jon Dever

Giulia Fisher - Size group

As we welcome in autumn, all that extra rain has a useful role to play here at Meister…

Water is an important part of stone production, particularly during cutting, where it helps to keep machinery cool and manage dust throughout the process.

We harvest rainwater to help service our production facility, making use of the water that falls on site as part of our day-to-day operations.

It is one of the ways we try to use our resources carefully, alongside planning each block of stone to make the best use of the material and recycling remaining stone into aggregates.

A small part of the process, but an important one behind the finished stonework.

Before a block of stone reaches one of our cutting machines, there are some important decisions we have to make.

Raw blocks arrive from the quarry weighing several tonnes and are carefully unloaded and moved into position using our gantry crane.

From there, our team inspects each block, looking at the stone itself and considering how it will be used for the project ahead. This helps us plan how the block will be cut and make the best use of the material before production begins.

This is a really important part of the process, as the decisions made at this stage help turn a raw block of natural stone into everything from detailed architectural stonework to large-scale hard landscaping.

Large blocks of natural stone arrive at our yard straight from the quarry, ready to begin their journey through Meister. From here, they go through several stages of cutting, machining, shaping and finishing before leaving us as finished stonework.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more of that process, along with some of the people and machinery involved at each stage.

It’s a good way to see just how much happens between a raw block of stone arriving with us and the finished result.

Here is a closer look at our new wire saws in action.

The system cuts large blocks of stone with accuracy and control, while water cools the wire and helps to suppress dust throughout the process. From the control panel, our team monitors each stage of the cut.

Having this capability in-house allows us to maintain close control over quality, production schedules and the finished result.
