Lawns still need nutrients going into the winter months, but in a slightly different proportion compared to the spring and summer.
A typical autumn feed will contain a lower level of Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potassium.
✅ Nitrogen is used for leaf growth which should be slowing up and growing less vigorously. We don’t want to encourage any excessive growth before winter!
âś… Phosphate is needed for strong root growth
âś… Potassium acts as the anti-freeze and provides reliance to the leaf
And not forgetting…
âś… Magnesium for that rich dark green colour without any excessive growth
âś… Iron to harden the grass and to dehydrate any early moss that develops
Autumn feed can be applied as granular product, but we find that a liquid is more accurate and more effective at greening up the lawn as well as controlling any moss.
Have you applied an autumn/winter feed onto your lawn yet?
