We recently supplied the equipment for this battery storage system on a farm, where rising electricity costs were one of the big reasons behind the project

Rather than simply continuing to rely on increasingly expensive imported electricity, the idea was to make much better use of solar generation and store that energy for when itโ€™s actually needed

At the centre of the system is a Victron MultiPlus-II 48/15000, paired with something relatively new to our product range

That gives this system around 45kWh of usable battery storage from just three batteries.
The Li-Pro StyX is an interesting addition to the BSLBATT range for us. Its larger 16kWh capacity means we can achieve substantial storage without needing a large bank of individual 5kWh rack batteries - particularly useful where installation space and simplicity matter.

Itโ€™s a good example of the type of systems we're seeing more of โ€“ generating, storing and managing energy differently

And it was great to see our new 16kWh Li-Pro StyX batteries becoming part of a real-world installation ๐Ÿ”‹

We all get excited about high-power inverters, massive battery banks, and shiny solar panels...

But the single component most likely to save your entire setup is often the one nobody talks about: the humble fuse

A correctly rated fuse isn't glamorous, and it isn't expensive. But if a short circuit or overcurrent event happens, it's the only thing standing between a quick ยฃ5 fix and replacing thousands of pounds worth of melted cables, fried electronics, or worse
