As much as we love getting our teeth into a 1,000 panel installation, it's nice to get a wee chilled off-grid job in our own home town.
Don't be fooled by the lack of panels β these are 645W modules, the sort we normally use on commercial ground-mounted arrays.
This one only needs to run the odd socket and some lighting, but it still produces around 3,000 kWh a year. Just solar and a small battery. Completed in a single day for Fife Historic Buildings Trust.
We reckon we can take the trophy now for diversification of clean power: ice cream vans, pizza vans, water treatment plants, hydro schemes and braw greenhouses to name a few.
Let us know if you've seen solar in any niche or weird places π
