ARDURA ARCHIVE | WEST END TOWNHOUSE REFURBISHMENT 🏛️

Our Ardura division undertook a major refurbishment of this outstanding 1880s sandstone townhouse in Glasgow’s West End, transforming it into the perfect city dwelling for a family relocating from the USA.

Situated within a conservation area, the project required a discreet, experienced approach to sensitively restore original features while delivering modern luxury throughout.

What we did:
🔹Completed external repairs to the roof, chimneys, stonework, and rainwater goods.
🔹Replaced kitchen and bathroom facilities, updated flooring throughout, and delivered complete redecoration.
🔹Executed full electrical, plumbing, and heating upgrades alongside the installation of a bespoke sauna.
🔹Maintained dedicated full-time site management to ensure original period details were protected and carefully restored.

We had a fantastic time at the Glasgow Business Awards last night.

Although we didn’t take home Family Business of the Year, we’re proud to have been finalists alongside so many great Glasgow businesses.

It was brilliant to see so many local businesses recognised on the night and to celebrate the people and organisations doing great things across the city.

PROJECT UPDATE | BELLFIELD STREET

Last month marked a key milestone at our Bellfield Street project in Dennistoun for Reidvale Housing Association, as we successfully removed the temporary structural partition.

The partition safely supported the original building framework for months while we constructed the new facade.

Site Manager David Wyllie, who is fully qualified and specially trained in temporary works, led the operation with the precision and oversight required to execute the phase safely and pave the way for scaffold removal.

Activity across the rest of the build was equally productive, with Taymor Limited completing a thorough wash-down of the new facade brickwork while our in-house joinery team made great progress reinstating the primary roof structure.

The build is progressing brilliantly, showcasing the craftsmanship and care that define our restoration work. Fantastic effort from David, the Lochlie site team, and our subcontractors for delivering a seamless operation.

We are continuing our strong partnership with New Gorbals Housing Association as work progresses at Coburg Street, Glasgow.

Restoring traditional sandstone tenements requires expert care. Under the leadership of Site Manager Stuart Kinnear, our core division will combine specialist stone repairs with high-performance fabric upgrades, protecting the building from long-term decay while actively improving comfort and energy efficiency for residents.

Inside our newly finished project for our Ardura client in Glasgow. ✨

It has been an incredible journey bringing this bespoke home to life. The property now features dramatic vaulted ceilings throughout the main living areas and upper bedrooms, supported by custom solid oak trusses to maximise light, height, and space.

Externally, the design team blended natural stone, crisp render, and warm timber cladding under a classic slate roof for a striking, timeless finish.

A massive thank you to our luxury residential division for their hard work and to our client for trusting us to bring their vision to life!

A brilliant night supporting an incredible cause. 💛

We had the privilege of attending the Beatson Cancer Charity Ball, supporting the fantastic work they do for patients and families across Scotland.

It was a great evening that brought everyone together while raising vital funds to help the charity continue the important work they do every day.

John brings more than 30 years’ experience helping founder-led and family businesses grow sustainably, combining expertise in entrepreneurship, governance, and strategic leadership.
