🔧 Worcester CDI strip service carried out

This boiler was due a proper strip-down and clean.

Fan pressure before the service was -3.86 mbar, right on the limit of the manufacturer’s specification of -3.9 mbar or lower.

The main heat exchanger was thoroughly cleaned, bearing plate replaced and all relevant seals renewed. Once rebuilt and tested, fan pressure improved to -5.4 mbar 👌

We also found a major safety issue with the flue. It was almost completely detached due to having no screws fitted and not being properly clipped.

A hatch was cut to gain access and the flue was correctly secured, clipped and screwed into place.

A good example of why a proper boiler service is more than just sticking a probe in the flue and calling it a day.
