Eight days. A Christmas closure. One of the busiest railway termini in the UK. 🚂

If you haven't heard, during an eight-day Christmas possession, our team installed a series of bespoke, lightweight suspended protection platforms spanning 50 metres across London Liverpool Street Station's Grade 1 listed trainshed.

The brief: enable full roof replacement above live tracks without a single disruption to the station's daily operation.

The solution: Palmers' bespoke aluminium Bridge Panel system that was designed in-house, and engineered to the structural constraints of a 19th-century listed building. This was fully mobile across all four spans of the trainshed.

✅ 30m of overhead protection at full width
✅ Mobile platforms traversing 50m spans independently
✅ Zero disruption to daily passenger flow
✅ Compliant with underground fire safety standards

What a day! ⛳🙌

A huge thank you to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd for hosting a brilliant first golf day, and to everyone who came along and got stuck in.

We were proud to be part of it. The hospice has been caring for people and families across Chester and the surrounding area for years. They support patients on their wards and out in the community, and that care only happens because local people back it.

Behind every swing on the day was a good cause, and you don't need a set of clubs to help. If you can, head over to the hospice's website and make a donation, whatever the size. It all goes towards care for people close to home.

This Sunday, Farndon comes together for the annual soapbox derby, and we're so proud to be right there with it as Platinum Sponsors. 👏

It's a brilliant day of homemade karts, big crowds and a whole village pulling together to raise money for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and the local community.

We're building our Hinkley Point C team! 🙌

For over 140 years, Palmers has delivered access solutions on the UK's most demanding sites. And few are more demanding, or more rewarding, than Hinkley Point C.

With new projects starting in January 2027, we're recruiting across the board for:
✅ Scaffolding Supervisors
✅ Scaffolders
✅ Industrial Painters
✅ QA/QC Inspectors (minimum Level 2)

This is nuclear-standard work. So that means uncompromising safety, absolute compliance, and a genuine part to play in one of the biggest engineering projects in the country. Backing the next generation. 💪

Over the past two weeks, we've had two brilliant young lads on work experience with us here at Palmers Scaffolding, Finley Duggan and Zach Gardner. Both from Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School.

They started last week and will finish at the end of this one, and it's been a pleasure having them on site.

They've thrown themselves in, asked good questions, and got a real feel for what a career in scaffolding actually looks like: the skill, the teamwork, and the pride that comes with it.

Bringing young people in like this matters to us. It's how the trade stays strong. Work experience opens the door, but our hope is that it plants a seed so that some of these lads leave school and see scaffolding and the wider construction industry as a genuine career worth pursuing, whether that's through an apprenticeship or otherwise.

Finley and Zach, you've done yourselves proud. 👏

A big thank you to Colin Duggan and Paul Yates for helping make it happen.
