Can't quite believe we have started taking bookings already for our commercial clients Christmas requirements. This year seems to have passed at lightning speed!

Our hospitality and event venue customers always keep us busy from end September to November when planning their Christmas decorations and displays.

Most homeowners don't know the risks of not having electrical inspections carried out in their properties. So we have created an online booklet with important information for any homeowner/occupier with a property over 10 years old, we hope this helps to raise awareness of the risks

Callout to a flat in Lenzie, owner reported a burning smell and lights flickering when they used the electric shower.

When we opened the consumer unit we found serious thermal damage to the main switch due to a loose terminal screw.

There was no sticker to say when the last time an electrical inspection had been carried out. An important part of regular electrical inspections and testing is to check all terminals are tight and help prevent these situations from happening, or worse if it causes a🔥

It is a homeowners responsibility to ensure their property is maintained to a safe condition (as per clauses in home insurance policies). Had this case resulted in a fire and our customer tried to claim their house insurance - would the insurance company have paid the claim if the owner didn't have an inspection report showing the electrics had been properly tested and confirmed as safe in the last 10 years?

New cooker control unit and plug installed!

If you see signs of heat damage to any plug, socket, switch etc - be safe, don't try to use it - leave it switched off and get a professional to check it.
