My dahlias finally got the message 😂 Just starting to flower while other gardeners are putting theirs into storage.

Listen to your garden, not just the calendar. Advice that’s right for someone else’s weather and growing conditions might not be right for yours.

Harvesting snapdragon seeds because I’ve already paid for these flowers once 😂

Let the pods turn brown and dry, then shake the seeds into a labelled paper envelope. Store somewhere cool and dry for sowing next year. More plants without buying another packet.

Sorry to disappoint you all with my healthy, flowering dahlia 😂

I know some of you had high hopes for its demise when you saw me filling this pot with lumps of turf and waterlogged earth.

I’ve passed your concerns on. It’s responded with more flowers.

I think I’ve finally cracked gardening.

Everything grows back, half the plants make more plants, and somehow people keep paying me.

This is going to make me absolutely loaded. 😂

Back from holiday and the garden’s got a longer to-do list than you have? 😂

Ten minutes gardening, one small job, then put the tools down. You can feel better about your garden without breaking your back over it all day.

Small wins count. Keep it a hobby you enjoy, rather than another chore you feel guilty about.

Should you cut the old flowers off your hydrangea? You don’t have to tidy everything up just yet ✂️

In colder areas, especially the north of the UK, I’d leave them until spring. I’d take the same cautious approach with young plants too.

Home from holiday and catching up on autumn gardening 🌿

The dahlias have finally decided to make an appearance, and the list of garden jobs is waiting patiently. Unlike the washing, at least I’m looking forward to getting stuck into this.

One job at a time and we’ll get there.

7 lies every gardener tells themselves 😂

Going to the garden centre for “just compost”, remembering where the spring bulbs are, only gardening for five minutes, dealing with the weeds tomorrow… and definitely leaving enough room between plants this time.
