Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review left on both Google and Facebook from Dan in Battlefield, Glasgow southside.
We hired MWC for an extensive ground floor renovation, involving knocking through a wall to create a large kitchen/diner, fabricating and inserting structural beams, creating new doorways, extensive plastering work, sanded flooring with underfloor insulation, a new utility room and roof, all plumbing, heating and electrics. It was a lot to take on, and Mat was enthusiastic to do the work from the beginning.
What stood out most for me was Mat's reliability and a consistent forward-looking solution-focus.
Mat and his team turned up on time every single day, they kept things tidy and well-organised, and he was always checking in with me before making decisions and to ensure we were satisfied with progress. I so appreciated Mat's integrity - he does what he says he will do. He's a responsive and calm communicator, he's easy to talk to (and an all-round nice guy), and he genuinely wants his customers to be happy. Working with someone who takes genuine pride in their work makes a big difference, and it's a positive, grounded energy that we really needed on a big job like this.
Mat and his team were always professional, friendly and 'can-do', even on the harder days or when confronted with the unexpected surprises of an old (1896) building or a picky customer with high standards (me!). I also valued that Mat would come up with some really good ideas and alternatives along the way which made a positive impact on the final result. Any unforeseen additional pieces of work were always costed and agreed in advance, so I always knew exactly where we were financially.
On a job this size he can also bring in other trades to cover everything needed, and since finishing the work Mat has come straight back to sort out the odd snagging issue without quibble.
