Great to see this, 😊. We’ve seen first hand, working alongside CorkSol Contracting, how Corksol has helped Wheatley Group and other councils here in Scotland with condensation and mould issues 👍

We have been invited to present SprayCork to the Scottish Government for funded works.

It has taken years to get here. To make the case, we brought together every piece of evidence we have on why SprayCork is a solution for vapour open retrofit in hard-to-treat homes.

It seemed a shame to do all that work and keep it to ourselves, so I’ve produced a version we can share: the Housing Association Edition.

A fair warning: this is not a brochure! It’s 19 pages of Sd values, lambda 90/90 methodology, in-situ U-value testing and hygrothermal conditioning data, all referenced to British and European standards. If you know why vapour permeability matters on a solid stone wall, you’ll get a lot out of it. If you don’t, it probably isn’t for you.

A wee bit of science behind the plaster 👌

Here’s how helps slow down heat escaping through your walls, even once it’s covered up.

Warmer wall surfaces also help reduce condensation risk, alongside heating and ventilation.

Following on from the prep work we showed earlier, here’s spray cork going onto the walls at one of our social housing jobs.

It’s applied in three coats, with each one left to dry before the next. Once that’s done, the walls are ready for their plaster finish.

This type of system could be worth looking at for older properties with cold walls, condensation or recurring mould.
