Phil's review came in this week.

Short, straightforward and exactly the kind of feedback that means the most to us.

"First class tradesmen."

That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every project β€” not just the big ambitious ones, but every kitchen we design, supply and fit regardless of size or spec.

Thank you Phil. It was a pleasure.

If you're thinking about a new kitchen and want to know what working with us actually feels like β€” the reviews are probably the most honest answer we can give you.

Free design appointments available now in our Kirkintilloch showroom.

The steel had to stay.

Opening up this kitchen and back room meant new steelwork, and a structural column right where the kitchen wanted to go.

So we gave it a job.

The column now anchors a waterfall peninsula in Calacatta Aurum quartz. The NikolaTesla hob faces the garden, with extraction built in, so there's no hood blocking the view.

Mineral Green handleless units wrap round the U, and the Smeg appliances sit to one side so the room stays open.

Something in your kitchen you've been told can't move? Bring it to our Kirkintilloch showroom.

A worktop does more work than any other surface in your home.

It gets used first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

It takes heat, water, weight and daily punishment without complaint.

It's where food gets prepared, drinks get made, homework gets done and conversations happen while someone's cooking.

Most people choose a worktop based on how it looks in a photograph.

That's the wrong starting point.

Come in and see them in person.

Touch them.

See how the light catches them at different times of day.

Then decide.

That's what the showroom is for.

Mary's review came in and it made the whole team smile.

Not because of the kind words β€” although those mean a lot β€” but because of the bit in the middle.

"A few visits to the showroom with many questions and changes of mind."

That's not a problem. That's the process.

A kitchen is one of the biggest decisions you'll make in your home.

Changing your mind is part of getting it right β€” not an inconvenience to be managed.

Our job is to be there through every visit, every question and every revision until the design feels exactly right.

Mary's kitchen was delivered when we said it would be. Fitted in two days.

And when she had questions afterwards we were still there.

Her words, not ours.

"Patient and helpful with suggestions. Not pushy. Excellent quality of kitchen units. Excellent aftercare. I love my new kitchen and would highly recommend A&S Design."

Thank you Mary. It was a pleasure.

If you're at the very beginning and not sure where to start β€” or even what questions to ask β€” come and visit our showroom.

We're not going anywhere.

Planning a kitchen? Save this before you do anything else. πŸ–€

Before you choose a single door style, think about how you actually live in the space. Your daily routine, how you move, who else is in the room and when.

Then get the layout right. Everything else β€” finishes, colours, appliances β€” can be adjusted. A layout that doesn't work stays that way.

Plan your storage properly. More than you think you need. Every time.

Think about lighting early. Task lighting over the worktop, ambient lighting for the room, feature lighting for the details. It's almost impossible to retrofit well.

Choose materials for how you live, not just how they look. The finish that photographs beautifully needs to perform every single day.

And find the right people to work with. Good advice at the start of a kitchen project is worth more than any individual decision made along the way.

Come and talk it through with us. Free design appointments in our Kirkintilloch showroom β€” no obligation, just a good conversation.

We've seen it more times than we'd like.

A kitchen that looks beautiful. Doors chosen carefully. Finish exactly right. Budget spent in all the places that show up well in photographs.

And a layout that quietly makes daily life harder than it needs to be.

The most expensive mistake you can make in a kitchen isn't choosing the wrong doors. It isn't picking a worktop that doesn't wear well. It isn't even going over budget on appliances.

It's getting the layout wrong and living with it.

And it stays every morning. Every evening. Every time someone tries to use the space properly.

If you're planning a kitchen and want to make sure the decisions that matter most get made in the right order β€” that's exactly what a free design appointment with us is for.
