Another exciting project completed! Customer had a conventional gas boiler with unvented cylinder (not suitable for solid fuel) but with this unique system and setup it complies with all of the relevant regulations 👌.

So what did we fit ?

- Opus Calypso,
- Heat Link,
- Laddomat,
- Airsmart with Servo dampers & Extraction interlock.
- Plumbing through 2 floors to reach the cylinder & where the heat link was fitted, parted the original system to combine the two heat sources.

- Subcontracted a full twin wall chimney externally.

In the event of a power cut the fire uses an internal cooling coil that opens when the back boiler exceeds safe temperatures.

Boy oh boy do we love a huge project ! This was fitted for a customer near Alston who has a really nice big classic property. What have we done ?

- do a complete assessment of the entire property so we know exactly what the property required.

- remove the vented cylinder upstairs and tanks on the top floor as the whole system is now pressurised.

- split the system into 3 so in the future is can be zoned.

- pulled a new 28mm main into the cellar to the new fast recovery pressurised cylinder this customer will never be short of hot water !

-fitted a secondary return so the hot water is at their fingertips immediately.

- built a floor over the original cellar staircase to create a space for the new boiler.

- fitted a low loss header on the heating to hydraulically separate the system.

- fitted a hive so the customer has complete control of their boiler remotely.

- removed the old fire with back boiler and fitted a new log burner.

We were called to look over a fire replacement where the installation was completely wrong, our client was left with 22mm gravity flow and returns attached to a pressurised cylinder with no valved control 🫣 this is a huge no no! Not to mention his plastic header. So what have we done ?

- installed a brand new 7" 904 liner & pot
- install a vent of the correct sizing and a carbon monoxide alarm
- replaced the original pipework to 28mm (in line with the regs)
- fitted a Heat Hero, the only cost effective way for the client to keep his cylinder.
- brought the cylinder up to regs so it's blow off is now piped to the external at the correct size.
- installed new valves for the cylinder and heating with priority hot water.
- replaced the header tank for a high temperature header
- sealed the central heating so it now transfers heat far better, reduces corrosion as it's not open the the atmosphere and is capable of having a boiler installed in the future.
- fitted a new pump to the solar thermal and swapped the glycol - with a new controller and sensors being fitted in the future.

Another customer who wants to push the boundaries of liquid fuel central heating. The EOGB Sapphire 💪 this is the most advanced liquid fuel boiler on the market. The combination of low per KW heat from kerosene mixed with the sapphires modulation makes it the most cost effective way to heat.

The sapphire also boasts potential savings of up to 25% on their fuel usage over a brand new condensing Worcester's and grants.

Another little project we've been working on for a customer who wanted to retrofit UFH throughout the downstairs of his home.

This included a layer of Ardex NA up to 30mm in some places then an Ardex DPM followed by more self leveller. We then glued Wunda overlay boards on top ready for our customer to laminate himself.

Commissioning will be undertaken on Monday 💪.
