If people are willing to do the right thing, are we making it easy enough for them?
Under UK WEEE regulations, retailers selling v**es are required to provide a take-back service for used v**es and v**e components. The legislation is already in place.
Yet research continues to show that many consumers either can't find recycling points or don't know they exist. At the same time, millions of v**es are still being discarded every week, despite the disposable v**e ban.
The easier we make recycling, the more likely people are to use it.
As an industry, there is a real opportunity to improve:
Visibility of recycling points
Consistency across retail locations
Consumer awareness and education
Collection and recycling infrastructure
The conversation around v**e recycling often focuses on what consumers should do.
We should also spend just as much time asking how easy we've made it for them to do it.
