Revisiting St John's Lane - a bespoke rooflight installation delivered in collaboration with Curo Construction ltd and Squire & Partners.

We designed, manufactured, and installed a bespoke electrically operated three-wall box rooflight, created to provide easy access to the roof. Measuring 2.6m wide, 3.6m in span, and 1.3m high, the unit was fully integrated with the building management system and featured battery backup, an integrated rain sensor, and touch-access keypads located both internally and externally. Finished in a custom PPC coating in RAL 7021 Black Grey, the rooflight was carefully detailed to complement the architectural design.

The glazing specification combined high-performance solar control and thermal efficiency, incorporating an 8mm HST Solar toughened outer pane, a 14mm black warm-edge Argon-filled spacer, and a 13.5mm heat-strengthened SGP laminated inner pane.

As with all of our carbon-neutral rooflights, the installation reflects our commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. We are proud to deliver bespoke rooflight solutions for residential and commercial projects throughout the UK and Europe.

Next Generation Rooflights was proud to contribute to this landmark scheme through the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke roof glazing systems.

The Urban Nature Project reimagines the Natural History Museum’s five-acre gardens, transforming an underused asset into a vibrant urban oasis. The landscape has been reshaped into a living laboratory in the heart of London’s museum district. Bringing together geology, horticulture, palaeontology, interpretation, and architecture, the project re-engages people with the natural world on their doorstep.

Describing the project, London Jury Chair Julia Roberts said:
“Delivered through exemplary collaboration between the architects, the client, and the wider team, it elevates the museum’s external grounds from backdrop to living exhibition.”

A further look at our completed rooflight installation at The Hurlingham Club. Delivered in collaboration with Knight Harwood, this bespoke rooflight package was designed, manufactured, and installed within the Grade II* listed private members’ club using the Raico THERM+S-I system.

Returning to projects after completion is always rewarding, especially when the finished spaces are being used exactly as intended. The rooflights continue to bring natural light into these beautifully reimagined interiors designed by Jestico + Whiles.

It’s great to revisit the details of a project that required such a considered approach from all involved.

Revisiting The Harrison, Shoreditch - completed last year.
This landmark refurbishment transformed a historic six-storey, 54,000 sq ft building, originally constructed between 1881 and 1887, into a contemporary Cat A and Cat B workspace with a strong focus on light, sustainability, and architectural detail.

Our scope included the design, manufacture, and installation of over 220 m² of bespoke rooflights and specialist glazing. The package featured glass boxes for the new roof terrace; fixed rooflights to the main roof, adapted to existing and new openings; replacement of low-level rooflights with self-supporting pyramidal lanterns; dual-pitch and multi-section rooflights; and vertical glazing to the internal lightwell.

All rooflights were designed to meet CWCT Class 1 and Class 2 non-fragility standards, providing strong daylight on upper floors and the new mezzanine, improving the working environment.

Delivered in collaboration with RED Construction Group and Anomaly, the project forms part of a wider sustainability-led vision targeting BREEAM Excellent and an EPC A rating.

Following on from completion, the King's Lynn Multi-Use Community Hub continues to demonstrate the impact of well-considered daylight design. Our bespoke fixed rooflight systems play a key role in transforming what was once a more enclosed retail space into a bright, open and welcoming environment for the community.

The installation includes a large-scale atrium rooflight alongside additional multipart units, all designed to deliver strong thermal performance, safety compliance, and long-term durability. We’re proud to have contributed to a scheme that supports adaptive reuse and helps bring new life to an important civic space in King’s Lynn.

✨ 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞: drone views of the completed Multi-Use Community Hub in King’s Lynn, highlighting the scale and integration within its surroundings.

We designed, supplied, and installed a comprehensive multipart fixed rooflight package to help deliver the natural light component into the building. A key focus of the installation is a significant multipart atrium rooflight covering 58 m² in total, supported by two additional raftered units.

The King’s Lynn MUCH is an excellent example of adaptive reuse. The integration of our systems has helped transform a previously dark, enclosed retail environment into a bright, welcoming, and accessible landmark. By combining safety-rated engineering with high-specification solar performance, the project delivers a comfortable environment for learners, businesses, and visitors alike.
